“A problem clearly stated is a problem half solved.” – Dorothea Brande (1893 – 1948), American Writer and Editor.

Because I’m convinced that it takes a lot of time and effort to strip away pre-existing assumptions and really get down to the core of the problem.

Job summary/responsibilities

My role is to find absolutely brilliant individuals with the right attitude to join our team at StudyPortals. In particular, my focus will be on finding great new additions to the StudyPortals clan, and convincing them to join one of the fastest growing & most fun companies of the Netherlands where they will form part of their very own new team(s) of engineers.

General introduction/background

I am originally French, but grew up in the United States, England, Poland, Russia & Ukraine before moving to the Netherlands to pursue a university education. I lived in Maastricht for 5 years where I studied Public Policy & Human Development at the United Nations University and worked for organisations like Maastricht University & the Gemeente of Sittard-Geleen. Maastricht was great, but the time came to move on to (slightly) bigger (and possibly better) things in the innovative hub that is Eindhoven Strijp-S. Fun fact: did you know this hub is an area that used to be reserved exclusively for employees of Phillips?

Key challenge

My key challenge will be finding people that are (or are capable of becoming) fantastic engineers, but also have the right cultural fit for our company. People who do not necessarily have all the technical skills yet, but who are able to learn, and have a personality that makes for a great cultural fit within the StudyPortals team. After all, StudyPortals has five core values that make its’ culture truly unique, and these must be maintained and fostered within the team.
