Studyportals International Student Satisfaction Awards 2014 – Sweden
Studyportals would like to congratulate all universities and universities of applied sciences that won an award. Unlike university rankings, Studyportals’ International Student Satisfaction Awards are based on thousands of reviews and opinions from international students in Europe. Among the Swedish universities that received sufficient reviews of international students to be eligible for the 2014 International Student Satisfaction Awards, a total of 13 universities received ratings ranging from “very good” (at least 8 out of 10) to “outstanding” (at least 9.5 out of 10).

Country Profile – Sweden
A total of 425 international students reviewed and rated their study experience in Sweden. These reviews form the total of 1004 comments, with an average of 2.4 comments per review. Most students who have reviewed their experience are originally from Europe and studied in Sweden for less than one year.
Reasons to (not) recommend an international study experience
- International students recommend Sweden because of great city life and social life
- Students are very impressed with academic standards, and Sweden does considerably better in this regard than the European average
- Students are very happy with their personal and professional development, although they find it less important that the average international student in Europe
- Students’ biggest complaint is the high living costs, they comment less on it than the European average, but when they do it is almost always negative
- Many students complain about university services, but overall students in Sweden are happier with the services provided than the European average
