Methodology

The Student Satisfaction Awards are based on reviews written by students. In the reviews, students can rate their study experience on a scale from 1 to 5 by assessing their satisfaction in six areas: overall, student-teacher interaction, life quality, career development, student diversity, and admission process. In addition, students can describe and argument the score they have given.

For the 2019 edition of the Awards, applicable reviews need to be collected from 01/04/2018 through 31/03/2019. The graduation date of the students submitting the reviews should be after 01/04/2018 (i.e. either enrolled students or fresh alumni), and the initiation date should not be older than the date of review submission. No distinction will be made between local and international students. Studyportals allows students to give their study experience a score through its specialised review collection service.

Studyportals will analyse the collected reviews to determine the winners in each category. Among all the participant universities, one worldwide winner per category will be selected based on the highest average rating.  All universities which receive above 4.0 overall score will receive badges of honour. Online badges will be sent to universities.

To participate in the Awards, universities need to have collected at least 10 reviews. Universities are advised to encourage students to leave a review, yet under no circumstances should they compensate the reviewers.

Reviews collected by the universities will be asked to be verified. If they are not, Studyportals reserves the right to count them as valid.

In case fraudulent behaviour is detected, Studyportals Intelligence Agency will check for their validity (e.g. manual checks, email check, contact to the reviewer).

The winners announced during the Student Satisfaction Awards 2019 ceremony will receive an award.
