Improved study pages

Recently, we are seeing a massive change in the way that we consume social content and we are becoming more and more visual by the day, also as well referenced in the quotation, “Tell me, I’ll forget. Show me, I’ll remember. Involve me, I’ll understand,” coming from an ancient Chinese proverb.
With that being said and taking into account feedback from students, a few weeks ago, we started working on a new study header for the programme page, tested and validated its effectiveness. The main study headers lets prospective students focus on the images of the main campus. This also helps move other bits of information under the image to easily display key facts about the study programme that students will need to make an informed decision. The shift to more visual content also comes from a general trend among internet users for visual content, and we will continue to try to give our users the best possible experience while browsing our platforms.

We first tested the header on BachelorsPortal, but since it quickly became a popular feature, we’ve also rolled it out on all the other academic portals.
What changed?

Cover photo: The most visible change to this part of the page is the cover image, this is for now the same cover image as the one used for organization page. With the implementation of the cover photo your programme page will have an enticing and consistent look.
Removing any clutter information: In order to have a consistent study page, we are trying to keep the layout of the programme page as much as possible. This includes the removal of any design that is confusing, such as additional headings, bold and italic text styling, and unnecessary links.

This changes can been seen clearly here:

Compared to the old look:

Our goal was to bring better readability to the students and also have a more modern, lively look.

Better display on mobile devices: The responsiveness of the programme page is now flexible to fit into any possible screen resolution in order to help students make informed study choices on every single device.

To make the most out of the new programmed, we will need to update some of the content on your profile page on our portals. There are two options to update your programme page. You can either send us the information and an appealing cover photo or we will proactively update it from your official university homepage.

To get a better picture of the improved look of the programme page, take a look one of our client’s new study page on MastersPortal. If you have any questions about StudyPortals and our recruitment services for universities or suggestions for how we can improve, please drop us an email and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
