The fourth StudyPortals Scholarship Beneficiary

Facebooktwitterlinkedin

Antara Sharma is the fourth beneficiary of the 1,000 € Scholarship, which is awarded by StudyPortals every quarter. She is originally from India and has been selected from over 2,300 applicants to receive the Scholarship, awarded in the second quartile of 2014. She impressed us with her achievements, her concise application and her ambitious study abroad dream.

Antara will be studying Polymer Science in a Master programme offered in a cooperation by Free University of Berlin, Humboldt University of Berlin, Technical University of Berlin and University of Potsdam.

Upon receiving the news of her selection, Antara wrote to us: “My decision to study abroad and particularly in Europe was taken because of my strong belief that while going for higher education one should not only aim for enriching the subject knowledge, but also it should be considered as an opportunity to study the culture, customs, and rituals of different societies. Europe’s fascinating old history of civilization and rich culture is a great starting point for me. However, studying in a foreign country is an expensive affair, particularly for people like me belonging to a middle class family. I have got a study loan from a bank, but the ‘Study Portals Study Abroad scholarship’ of 1,000 Euro is a wonderful gift and I feel much relieved now to start the things afresh in Berlin. I plan to use this money to purchase books and study materials. Also, I plan to spend a part of it to make a cultural trip in and around Berlin. I am thankful to Study Portal for jump-starting my dream to study in Berlin and boosting my morale.”

Congratulations Antara! We wish you all the best in your Master studies and we hope your story will inspire others to also choose (for) education.
