StudyPortals developing new study choice platform

Facebooktwitterlinkedin

Heerlen / Eindhoven – On 13th of October 2011, StudyPortals kicked off its latest initiative: A brand new study choice platform dedicated to the field of Open and Distance Learning (ODL).

Jointly developed by StudyPortals and the European Association of Distance Teaching Universities (EADTU), the ODL Portal will comprise several hundreds of institutions and thousands of offers right from its start – making it the major information source for distance and online education in Europe.

High quality study choice information such as videos, articles and student experiences will make the ODL portal a comprehensive starting point for orientation on distance education. As a true one stop shop for prospective ODL students, the portal will comprise several language versions; allowing the promotion of individual modules and entire programmes in the respective language of instruction. In close collaboration with various student organizations, such as the EADTU student council, the project team currently further specifies contents and functionality of the upcoming European platform.

Free of charge exposure to millions of students each month

Enhancing StudyPortals current portfolio as Europe´s leading study choice platform, the ODL portal will easily provide orientation to millions of visitors each month. Along this lines, the upcoming platform offers ODL providers with free of charge promotion on massive scale – which can additionally be complemented by cost-effective advertising services to secure targeted, additional exposure of high quality.

The portal is to be launched in spring 2012 and will be the main output of the EU funded project EDEA-I “European Distance Education Area: info portal and awareness initiative”.
