StudyPortals among the fastest growing Dutch companies for the fourth consecutive year
Eindhoven, NL – October, 24, 2017 – StudyPortals, the global education search platform, is thrilled to announce that, for the fourth consecutive year, it has been named one of the fastest growing companies in the Netherlands according to the Dutch financial publication, Financieele Dagblad (FD). This is the fourth time StudyPortals has won the prestigious FD Gazellen Award, having received the same recognition every year since 2014.
The annual awards are offered to companies who have maintained growth of at least 20% over a period of three years. According to Financieele Dagblad’s research team, only one in five (or 18%) of all award-winners are able to consistently make the list for four or more years. StudyPortals competes in the Middle Growth category, shortlisted alongside other Dutch companies with revenue between €2 million and €10million.
Joran van Aart, COO of StudyPortals, shares with great enthusiasm:
“This award is a remarkable acknowledgement of our company’s achievements: a few organisations can claim to sustain a fast, yet steady growth for several years in a row. It is also a proof that purpose-driven companies are for a fact revenue-generating companies. Our genuine dedication to making higher education transparent and boundary-free has made StudyPortals the successful organisation that it is today.
Study choice is so much more than earning a degree, it’s a pivotal decision in the life of any student, and we are proud to be making a positive impact on the international education community by improving students’ chances at a better career, a more connected and fulfilling life.”
In 2014, StudyPortals won the FD Gazellen Award’s 1st place in the category ‘international’, receiving recognition for their global focus. Today, global coverage remains a core milestone of the StudyPortals roadmap. The international expansion of the company has grown to encompass both its student reach, listing more than 114,000 study programmes, as well as its client operations. To support a growing base of universities across three different continents, StudyPortals has opened offices in Romania, the US, the U.K., Australia, while still maintaining its headquarters in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
From its beginning in 2009, StudyPortals has grown to 180 employees, from 35 different nationalities. The platforms attract over 19 million visits a year from searching students worldwide, and this number is projected to exceed 29 million by the end of the year. StudyPortals is working with over 2,450 universities and institutions worldwide to promote international education.
To accelerate its internationalisation, in March 2017, StudyPortals raised an investment of €5 million in series A, led by the Dutch VC firm KEEN Venture Partners. StudyPortals’ ambition is to become the preferred and most comprehensive global education marketplace for international students and higher educators alike.
