StudyPortals is switching to a new banner generation

Facebooktwitterlinkedin

Banner advertising is one of the most common and oldest forms of advertising online. The advantages of banner advertising is that it allows for specific demographical targeting, also it measures and tracks ROI and campaign performance.

Starting January 2016, we are going to switch to a new banners system with standardized sizes! This will be of great benefit to our clients:

Top Rectangle Banner

    • The banner size will be bigger so more visibility, better positioning and better readability on our portals.
    • They will be compatible with mobile devices. 30% of our users use their phones and/or tablets to search.
    • The banner sizes meet standard sizes, meaning that the design delivery will be easier.

We will have 3 new banners: Static Banner (3:1 rectangle),  In-search banner (Leaderboard) and Top Rectangle (MPU).

A banners graphic design is extremely important for increasing leads, and StudyPortals will help your university gain distinction with appealing banners that capture attention and entice students.

Below we have gathered some tips for a super appealing banner:

1.Keep the design simple

Sometimes when a design is extremely complicated it may lose its focal point. It is better to choose colors for your banner that contrast the color of your landing page and distinct fonts. Extremely bright colors can be unpleasant to look at and read. You can add your university’s logo as long as it complements the rest of the design. Also, keep in mind that animated banners are more likely to grab attention than static ones.

2.Focus on your target audience and unique selling point

Think about your target audience – What are their desires? Also what makes your university different compared to  others? Your banner should give a unique reason for students to click on it. For example ‘’ we are located in the heart of Paris’’

3.Photos of people

The trick is to make sure that the photo you are going to use is relatable to your target audience. A photo that is well employed will attract attention, increase relatability and, of course, improve your performance. For example, a photo of happy students enjoying and benefiting from their studies.

4.Encourage Action

Banners that call to action often perform better, that is because they encourage people to take action. Interactive banners are designed to stimulate interest in your university. Some examples are: ‘’Watch our video’’, ‘’Apply here’’.
