International higher ed conferences not to miss in 2018!

As 2017 gradually draws to a close, we shift our minds to the challenges that lay ahead in 2018. To help set you on your way, we have composed a list of the must-go-to educational conferences in 2018.

January:

Education Innovation Conference (London, United Kingdom – 23 January)

As technology develops so must education, whether this be by becoming more agile or through foreign collaboration this conference will delve into the topic. If you are interested in discussing collaboration in this area with Vice Chancellors and leading public policy thinkers, this is the conference for you!

February:

AACSB Deans Conference (Las Vegas, United States – 7 – 9 February)

With a theme of “Leading New Imperatives and Possibilities” this year’s Deans Conference will discuss a range of topics surrounding the needs of students and stakeholders. With the ever-changing world, it is important embrace this change. This event is for the business school deans and heads of the higher education sector and AACSB members from around the world.

March:

UPCEA Annual Conference (Baltimore, United States – 14 – 16 March)

With attendance of the leading thought leaders and practitioners in higher education, the UPECA Annual conference is a must visit. Spanning three days, you can experience a range of topics spanning from (but not limited to!) the administration, management and growth of continuing, professional and online education programs. Be sure to come find Studyportals there!

APAIE (Singapore – 25 – 29 March)

Set in the incredible city of Singapore, this year’s APAIE focus will be on “The Impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on Higher Education in the Asia Pacific”. Alongside this, there are five sub themes which will be active within the sessions and workshops throughout the conference. This conference is essential for everyone involved within international education. With Studyportals hosting sessions, this is something not to be missed!

April:

NAGAP (New Orleans, Louisiana – 11 – 14 April)

With the theme of “Sustain & Innovate” and attendance of over 900 global engagement professionals, whether you are new in graduate admissions or an expert this is a conference not to be missed! Throughout the different sessions on offer, it will provide you a platform to discover the new approaches and strategies across the admissions sector.

ASU-GSV Summit (San Diego, United States – 16 – 18 April)

This conference is for anyone within the learning and talent innovation community. This year’s ASU-GSV Summit allow’s you a two-way engagement with your own and other attendees ideas!

International Conference Annual Meeting (ICAM) 2018 (Honolulu, United States – 22 – 24 April)

With a Hawaii inspired dress code, this year’s ICAM will focus on the theme of “Connect. Discover. Lead.” Assembling the world’s leading business academics and collaborators, AACSB aim to promote the future of business education and the schools that deliver it! If you are a corporate representative, dean, associate/assistant dean, international director, program director, department chair, or faculty you should go!

Studyportals Academy (Amsterdam, Netherlands – 25-26 April)

The Studyportals Academy is our very own conference where we bring together passionate professionals in the realm of higher education. This year’s edition covers 3 main tracks around: big data in higher education, engaging with ‘Generation-Z’, latest trends in digital marketing and student recruitment. Join us for 2 days of inspiring trainings, workshops and presentations.

May:

Going Global 2018 (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – 2 – 4 June)

“Global connections, local impact” is the theme for this year’s Going Global Conference. Specifically, this means exploring how the tertiary sector plays a vital role within communities in developing internationally-minded people. For those asking, “should I attend?”, if you are university or college vice-chancellor, president or principal, an adviser, minister or government representative, journalist or policy and strategy maker, or a professional and trade body working in international education this is the conference for you!

NAFSA Annual Conference & Expo (Philadelphia, United States –27 May – June 1)

One of the biggest conferences in the world, this year’s NAFSA theme is “Diverse Voices, Shared Commitment”. In the current climate it is vital to be able to listen to different voices to successfully engage internationally. Attending this unique forum will allow you to engage in numerous sessions and workshops to better understand the issues at hand.

June:

EFMD Annual Conference (Copenhagen, Denmark – 6 – 8 June)

EFMD have almost 900-member organisations from academia, business, public service and consultancy in 86 countries. Those interested in management education and development should attend! (More information coming soon!)

GMAC Annual Conference (Boston, United States – 27 – 29 June)

Hosted in “The City on a Hill” with over 600 attendees from global business schools this is a must visit. By attending the conference, you can gain an invaluable insight into a wide range of areas including admissions, marketing and student services! If you are an academic and administrative program-level deans and directors from GMAT accepting programs or a member of MBA Roundtable this is the conference for you!

September:

EAIE 2018 (Geneva, Switzerland – 11 – 14 September)

This year’s EAIE conference is in Switzerland and has a theme of “Facing Outward”. The conference aims to formulate a shared vision and engage with those who do not share it. While participating in this conference, you will be able to engage with a diverse range of people from around the educational world. While there, ensure you come say hi to Studyportals!

October:

AIEC 2018 (TBC, Australia – TBC October)

The 32nd Australian International Education Conference brings the together the whole of the Australian international education industry. Here you will be able to network with the leading academics, administrators and policy advisors. (More information coming soon!)

November:

CBIE Annual Conference (TBC, Canada – TBC November)

CBIE’s annual conference allows international educators and stakeholders from across Canada and around the world. Here all learning levels from K-12 to postgraduates alongside the interests of both the public and private sectors are discussed. (More information coming soon!)

December:

AIRC Annual Conference 2018 (TBC, United States – TBC December)

AIR has over 375 institutions, agencies, and related organization representatives attending across the United States. Here you will discuss the market trends and analysis, cutting-edge technology, strategically-based international student recruitment processes and solutions and policy.
